Research the Las Vegas hotels, casinos and resorts that provide them and see if you can score some good prices by booking ahead of time.
1. The Strip
The Las Vegas Strip is one of the most famous places in the world, and for good reason. The lights and the sights are one of a kind, and you can walk along the strip for hours at a time and never stop being amazed. The Strip is especially beautiful at night when it’s all lit up and people are out for the evening. Many people like to walk around and simply take photographs of the buildings and themselves. There are also many free shows, such as the Volcano Show at the Mirage and the famous Bellagio Fountains. There are tons of shops that you’ll be able to walk past and explore. You can window shop to your heart’s content. One thing to remember about the strip is that Las Vegas can get very hot, especially in the summer. It may be more comfortable for you to wait to walk the strip until the sun goes down and the lights come out.
2. Gambling
This is what most people come to Las Vegas for, and it’s why Vegas has been such a tempting destination for decades. There are literally hundreds of places in Las Vegas where you can gamble, and it offers everything from penny slots to high roller card games. In fact, some casinos offer free gambling classes that you can use to sharpen your skills. Please remember that there is no guarantee you’ll win any money, and might in fact end up losing lots, so please gamble responsibly.
3. Las Vegas Shows and Las Vegas Concerts
Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas concerts are among the best in the world and so, this city is also famous for its huge number of incredible shows and concerts. On any given night in Las Vegas there will be a concert from a famous musician. There are also many long running shows, like Michael Jackson ONE and other Cirque du Soleil shows. Many popular singers like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears have had ongoing residencies at Las Vegas casinos, which mean they have shows monthly or weekly for years at a time.

4. Clubbing
Las Vegas has some of the greatest night clubs in the world. It can be hard to imagine just how wild and crazy they are unless you’ve seen them before, but they are a sight to behold. The music, the vibrations, the lights, the drinks, the dancing, and so much more will wow you and have you coming back for more. Some of the most famous clubs are Hakkasan and Omnia, though all of the high-profile Vegas casinos have clubs of their own, and some might have more than one. Many casinos and Las Vegas hotels also have pool clubs that are open during the day where you can swim, drink, dance, and listen to music.
5. Las Vegas High Roller
Measuring an astounding 520 feet in diameter, the Las Vegas High Roller eclipses both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer and is one of the great things to do in Las Vegas and among the top Las Vegas attractions. It’s parallel to Las Vegas Boulevard and the wheel takes 30 minutes to complete one full revolution. There are 28 glass-enclosed cabins with broad views of Las Vegas and the Strip. Each spherical cabin can hold up to 40 people. There’s lots of floor space for standing to take in the view and there are places to sit as well.
However, sight-seeing isn’t the end of the story! The High Roller offers sunset yoga classes, which is a transcendent experience to see the sun-bathed Las Vegas strip on the tallest Farris wheel in the world while doing your favorite poses. Additionally, from noon until 1 a.m., you can purchase the “Happy Half Hour” ticket. You’ll get a bartender and an all-you-can-drink open bar, all in your cabin. The High Roller isn’t merely a Ferris wheel…it’s the experience of a lifetime!
6. Las Vegas Downtown/Fremont Street
The Las Vegas Downtown and Fremont Street areas are also wonderful to visit. There are lots of free shows in this area too, from big free sky shows and light shows to small street performer acts. There is also a zip line that’s a lot of fun for everyone!

7. Red Rock Canyon
Not many people realize that Las Vegas is in the middle of beautiful country and has tons of outdoor activities to offer. Pretty much everyone goes to Las Vegas for the strip and gambling and they forget or don’t even take the time to research all of the outdoor activities they can do. For one, there is Red Rock Canyon out just past the city limits, which can be a quick excursion to get away from the constant Vegas craziness. Red Rock Canyon, in the Mojave Desert, is known for its geological features, such as red sandstone peaks and the Keystone Thrust Fault.
8. Hot Air Balloon Ride
You can also take a hot air balloon flight, which will give you a one of a kind view of Las Vegas that not many people will ever get in their lifetime. Hot Air Balloon rides run between $100 and $200 per person and include a shuttle to and from your hotel. Similarly, you can take a helicopter tour, which might be somewhat expensive, but will give you views of the city and the nature sights outside the city to last for a lifetime.
9. ATV Rides, Canoeing, and the Grand Canyon
There are also plenty of opportunities to take an ATV or UTV ride outside the city in the desert. Not many people know that the Grand Canyon is less than a day’s drive from Las Vegas, and if you’re that close, you should definitely go see it, because the Grand Canyon is one of the natural wonders of the world. The Colorado River runs through the canyon and provides incredible opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and white water rafting. It’s definitely possible that after a couple of days in Las Vegas you might start to feel claustrophobic, so it could be a great opportunity to make your way outside the city for any one of the many outdoor activities there are.
As you can see, there are an astonishing number of things to do in Las Vegas. You should beware, however, that many things in Vegas are vastly overpriced and should be researched before you decide to agree to pay for them. Be safe and have fun!
